Introduction of high-capacity type 26Ah cell

The new 26Ah cell provides a 13% higher volumetric energy density than the existing 23Ah cell because of the improved materials and design while maintaining the features of existing SCiB™ such as rapid-charging performance and long-life performance.


Performance and applications of the 26Ah cell

The 26Ah cell is a new product with a 13% increase in energy density compared to the existing 23Ah cell.
The 26Ah cell has the same rapid charging performance as an existing high-energy cell, and can be charged more than 80% in 6 minutes.
Improved materials are introduced to achieve high energy density, maintaining the excellent life characteristics as existing high-energy type cells, which hardly has degradation even after repeated rapid charging and can be used safely.

Therefore, the 26Ah cell is suitable for rapid regenerative charging in electrified sections, long-distance battery operation in non-electrified sections, and railway systems that require high durability and safety as an emergency power source.
It is also suitable for electric buses because it has both rapid charging performance and high energy density, which reduces the amount of batteries installed and realizes a large passenger space and cost reduction.
