Hybrid Buses

Making the most of regenerative energy to achieve better fuel economy and lower emissions

Hybrid propulsion systems are becoming increasingly common for buses and other large commercial vehicles to reduce CO2 emissions. SCiB™ makes it possible to efficiently utilize large regenerative energy converted from kinetic energy of a bus due to its high input/output performance, which helps to achieve better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.

Better fuel economy

Reduction of CO2 emissions

Utilizing the regenerative energy to minimize the use of a combustion engine

SCiB™ makes it possible to efficiently utilize large regenerative energy converted from kinetic energy of a bus. Electric motor powered by the regenerated energy supports the bus to start moving smoothly at high power. While engine is turned off during stopping, the energy is also used as power source of air conditioner and other devices.
