Toshiba is developing a 5.5Ah-HP cell that retains the advantages of the 20Ah-HP cell, which combines large capacity and high input/output, while reducing its volume by 70%. Combination-type cells are ideal for high-load applications that require continuous operation and heat suppression. Compared to the conventional 20Ah-HP cell, it is expected to save space and improve the flexibility of module layout design.

The 20Ah-HP cell has a proven track record in heavy-duty applications such as construction machinery and AGVs that require rapid charging and 24-hour operation, as well as UPS systems with high peak-cut performance capable of accepting large currents. By using the 5.5Ah-HP cell, it is possible to build a more space-efficient power system while retaining the advantages of the 20Ah-HP cell.
