KAWASAKI, Japan—Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Toshiba ESS) has established the “Energy Aggregation Division” as a dedicated organization for bringing advances in IoT technologies to its solar power, wind power and energy demand management businesses, and for strengthening cooperation across business units. The new division was established on January 1.

The increasing adoption of renewable energy and the impact of the liberalization of the power industry is expected to spur demand for energy aggregation services that integrate and adjust the balance of supply from distributed renewables and storage and demand from industry, logistics center and data centers.

“We have extensive experience and know-how in solar power, wind power and energy demand management,” noted Noriaki Kozono, General Manager of Toshiba ESS’s Energy Aggregation Division. “We will draw on them to boost the energy aggregation business, and realize digital power plants for solar and wind energy, and virtual power plants that apply advanced energy management technologies to centralized control of end-user-side systems.”

Toshiba ESS will contribute to the promotion of renewable energy and the realization of a low-carbon society with high efficiency generation systems and solutions that dynamically balance energy supply and demand.
