Power system monitoring and control systems that contribute to improving the supply-demand adjustment performance
We combine our abundant experiences and state-of-the-art information technologies (IT) to support improving the power supply-demand adjustment capabilities and the stable and safe supply of power. Our initiatives include "power system monitoring and control system" for smoothly supplying power from power plants to consumers, "power system stabilizing system" for preventing wide-area blackouts when a system fault occurs, and provision of a training environment using training simulators.
Power system monitoring and control system for power companies
Utilizing state-of-the-art IT to stably supply power to consumers
Toshiba provides power system monitoring and control systems for smoothly supplying power from power plants to consumers.
Our power system monitoring and control systems are packed with state-of-the-art IT and inherit the system development and integration technologies we accumulated, such as a central load-dispatching office system to perform accurate demand prediction and determine the most economic generator output, feeding central monitoring and control system for stable operation of power systems, and power distribution automation system for monitoring and controlling power distribution systems.
Central load-dispatching office system for adjusting the supply-demand balance
As the uppermost system of the stratified power system monitoring and control system, it has a number of supply-demand balancing and system operation functions to support the stable supply of power and economic operation. It also has various system analysis calculation functions and voltage security monitoring functions to provide appropriate information at any time.
Feeding central monitoring and control system for integrally controlling multiple substations and the flow of electricity
By standardizing the hardware configurations and packaging software functions, this system allows for adding optional functions taking into account the regional characteristics of each power plant and control office. As such, it enables highly flexible system building.
Through its extensive functions, this system realizes improved efficiency in power system operation and faster response to faults.
Substation monitoring and control system to monitor substations and to control each piece of equipment
It monitors and controls substation equipment through mutual cooperation with a protection relay system and a feeding/control station system to realize the stable supply of power.
Power system stabilizing system that minimizes fault section
Prevents large-scale blackouts utilizing central arithmetic unit and protection relay
A fault in a power system could result in a large-scale blackout. Toshiba provides power system stabilizing systems to swiftly control the system (e.g., shutting off a generator) at the time of a system fault to prevent wide-area blackouts.
Our power system stabilizing systems consist of the central arithmetic unit to calculate control content, central control unit to perform fault detection, control selection and control command output, and terminal unit.
