Kawasaki, Japan - Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation (“TPSC”) have decided to integrate their respective nuclear and thermal energy businesses, effective April 1, 2027.
The integration is scheduled to be implemented through an absorption-type company split, with TPSC as the splitting company and Toshiba as the successor company. TPSC will transfer to Toshiba its nuclear energy business and the thermal energy business, which is part of its carbon solution business.

The integration allows Toshiba Group to bring together the technologies, human resources and cumulative experience of the two companies. It will strengthen the foundations of both the nuclear and thermal energy businesses and enhance their capabilities in developing proposals and executing projects. Integrating operations that the two companies have handled separately, from planning, design and engineering through procurement, construction and commissioning to maintenance services, will give Toshiba Group an organizational structure that enables it to respond swiftly to changing business conditions and customer needs.

By further strengthening both businesses, Toshiba Group will contribute to the stable supply of energy infrastructure and the realization of a carbon-neutral society, while continuing to deliver sustainable value to customers and society.
