TOKYO—Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) announced that the annual Ordinary General Meeting of its Shareholders, held today, elected 12 people to the post of directors of the company. Further to this, Toshiba also announced that the meeting of the Board of Directors held immediately after the Ordinary General Meeting elected Osamu Nagayama as the Chairperson of the Board, and also appointed the members of three committees and Executive Officers.

The Board of Directors of the company issued the following statement:

“We thank all the shareholders who exercised their voting rights at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders and for giving serious consideration to how to improve Toshiba’s corporate value and stakeholder value.

We appreciate the leadership and many contributions of Mr. Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, who has now retired after serving as our Chairperson and an independent director. He played an important role in positioning Toshiba to compete and win in our rapidly changing industry.

We welcome our new Chairperson Mr. Nagayama, and with him, we will continue to monitor execution of the Toshiba Next Plan, and to reinforce Toshiba’s governance and compliance.
