Toshiba Announces Medium-term Business Plan for FY2000 to 2002 21 March, 2000
7.8 trillion yen in sales, net income of 200 billion targeted for FY2002
Tokyo -- Toshiba Corporation today unveiled its mid-term business plan for the three fiscal years to the end of March 2003. The program advances an overall strategy geared to achieving high growth and profitability, and articulates the underlying business policies, priority strategies and key targets necessary to achieve them. In a highly competitive global marketplace, Toshiba will concentrate on fast growing areas of IT, with an emphasis on mobile applications and networking, while preserving its core capabilities as a manufacturer of high value-added products incorporating cutting-edge technology. Through implementation of the plan, Toshiba aims to achieve consolidated results in the end of its final year, fiscal 2002: net sales of 7,800 billion yen, operating income of 420 billion yen and net income of 200 billion yen.
