SBT

Toshiba Group's greenhouse gas reduction targets approved by Science Based Targets initiative.

The Science Based Targets initiative has approved Toshiba Group's greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for FY2030 as fully meeting science-based targets(*1) for "holding the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2℃ above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 ℃," as defined by the Paris Agreement(*2).

SBT

Toshiba Group's 3 targets (For all items below, the base year is FY2019) :

*1. Science- based targets are scientifically grounded GHG reduction targets set by companies on a medium- to long-term basis in order to hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2℃ above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 ℃. Science-based targets are validated by the SBT initiative.
*2. An international framework adopted at the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) that seeks to reduce GHG emissions.
