Toshiba a Participant in “Locked Shields 2025” Cyber Defense Exercise

Tokyo, Japan – Toshiba Corporation proudly participated in “Locked Shields 2025,” the world’s largest and most advanced international cyber defense exercise, organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). The event took place from May 6 to 9, 2025.

Locked Shields simulates large-scale cyberattacks targeting national IT systems and critical infrastructure. This year’s exercise brought together participants from approximately 40 countries, including NATO member states. Toshiba participated as a member of the Japan team, which was led by the Ministry of Defense and included government agencies, as well as companies responsible for critical infrastructure, etc. The team also formed a joint team with Australia.

Participation in Locked Shields provided Toshiba with valuable knowledge of international best practices for defending critical infrastructure against cyber threats, along with the latest trends in cybersecurity. The company will apply these insights to further enhancing the safety, reliability, and resilience of its cybersecurity solutions for defense, energy, and social infrastructure from cyberattacks, and remains committed to delivering advanced technologies and contributing to the realization of a safer and securer society.
