Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology
To enhance productivity in design operations, we are promoting the modeling of business processes, product architecture, and technical knowledge, and digitally leveraging these models into daily operations through information systems. To strengthen manufacturing capabilities at our production sites, we are developing effective tools and methodologies for productivity improvement based on industrial engineering (IE), while also advancing production management systems and simulation technologies.
These technologies are being deployed across the entire value chain—from sales to installation and maintenance - to promote transformation of business processes.
Robotics and Mechatronics
To address challenges such as labor shortages and the diversification of tasks in factories and warehouses,we are developing intelligent robots that can operate autonomously according to their surrounding environment and task requirements. By combining mechatronics with advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and simulation, we aim to achieve high-level automation. To accelerate research and commercialization, we provide integrated support for prototyping, test equipment and manufacturing system development, and production line construction necessary for manufacturing.
Manufacturing Process and Inspection Technology
We aim to enhance productivity in manufacturing processes by understanding physical and chemical mechanisms, and to realize new production technologies. We conduct research and development in material processing technologies, process control technologies, and numerical analysis technologies. We contribute to bringing new products to market by proposing new device concepts, fundamental design strategies, and prototype verification techniques. Furthermore, we apply AI and image processing technologies to develop automated inspection systems capable of performing visual product inspections and equipment anomaly detection with human-like precision. We promote the implementation and operation of these systems in manufacturing environments.
Electronics parts assembly, Circuit, and Control Technology
To achieve carbon neutrality and a circular economy, we provide solutions that comprehensively improve the performance, quality, and productivity of electronic components and mounting boards used in electrical equipment. To achieve this goal, we develop and enhance CAD/CAE technologies, Visualization・Analysis・Design technologies, Equipment control technologies, and Assembly technologies to support business expansion.
Innovative Production Technology
In parallel with developing foundational technologies aimed at enhancing core profitability, we promote the development of innovative next-generation production technologies to drive process transformation and deliver high-value-added products. We are working on the practical application of innovative wet technologies such as nanofiber membranes and insulating films using electrospinning, and etching,
to create new devices and improve productivity. We are also working on autonomous control of manufacturing technologies using AI and other tools.
Software production technology (OSS utilization, SBOM management)
By leveraging OSS and establishing a software development environment with enhanced SBOM management, we aim to improve software transparency and reliability, enabling early detection and response to vulnerabilities. This will strengthen cybersecurity and mitigate supply chain risks. Furthermore, we will promote the safe and sustainable use of OSS by developing selection criteria, building infrastructure for sharing vulnerability information, and enhancing collaboration with OSS communities.
