- Accurately forecasts wind power generation , reducing penalties (fees) resulting from imbalance between power generation plans and actual performance.
- Learns wind speeds and power generator output characteristics (which are important to wind power generation forecasts) from past data, taking into account topography around the power plants.
- Mixes multiple forecast methods, and adjusts the mixing ratio of forecast methods while learning forecast error trends day by day.
Benchmarks, strengths, and track record
- FY2023: In the renewable energy aggregation demonstration project, average forecasting error of 10.1% in wind power generation. (achieved performance falling far below the targeted error value)
