Notice of Restructuring Plan at a Toshiba Affiliate Company
Notice is hereby served that Toshiba Corporation (hereafter Toshiba) has accepted a business restructuring plan for subsidiaries of Matsushita Toshiba Picture Display Co., Ltd (MTPD), a joint venture of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (MEI) and Toshiba.

MTPD decided to terminate operations at its wholly owned subsidiaries, MT Picture Display Germany GmbH (MTPDG) and MT Picture Display Corporation of America (Ohio) (MTPDA (OH)). The cathode ray tube (CRT) business faces severe price and market erosion, due to the increasing popularity of flat-panel TVs, and MTPD's decision is part of its global restructuring initiative to overcome these circumstances. - Future prospects
