Toshiba Digital Solutions and IPwe Announce the Joint Promotion of the Digital Transformation of Intellectual Property

　Toshiba Digital Solutions Corporation ("Toshiba Digital Solutions") and IPwe, Inc. ("IPwe") have agreed to begin collaboration to build an intellectual property information platform that will support intellectual property strategy¹. The platform will support the realization of IP Digital Transformation (DX), using intellectual property to enhance corporate value.

　In recent years, intellectual property has become a more important management resource as a source of competitive advantage. As incorporated in Japan’s revised Corporate Governance Code², companies are now required to disclose their intellectual property investments and intellectual property strategies.

　Toshiba Digital Solutions boasts a wealth of experience and expertise in the introduction of intellectual property management solutions to companies in Japan. IPeakMS^®, Toshiba Digital Solutions’ flagship SaaS-type intellectual property management service, has a function to flexibly expand and efficiently collect information that is useful for analysis and utilization and enables centralized management of intellectual property information, including know-how, human resources, evaluation information, contracts, and expense information in the cloud. The service is provided together with Toshiba Group's expertise in intellectual property management and has been well received for its high security and ease of implementation with low initial investment.

　IPwe is a global provider of Smart Intangible Asset Management (SIAM), AI and blockchain-based IP analytics and financial valuation solution. SIAM is a cloud-based SaaS solution for strategic IP data management, objective IP asset valuation, benchmark analysis, and more, enabling IP owners to efficiently and accurately capture, develop, and manage IP data, including the asset’s transaction history and the value of their portfolio, along with competitors’ portfolio valuations, globally over time.

　Through this partnership, the two companies will leverage their respective intellectual property products and expertise to create an intellectual property information platform that enables companies to determine the value of their intellectual property using objective and standard benchmarks, improve IP asset management, streamline reporting processes, and create new avenues for the buying and selling of intellectual property. 

　The platform will support the strategic development and utilization of intellectual property and intangible assets, including know-how and other assets, and aid in the realization of a comprehensive IP DX that leads to more efficient compliance with Japanese law, thereby contributing to increased corporate value.
