Odagahama Beach (Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture), which was certified by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan in October last year as one of the "Nationally Certified Sustainably Managed Natural Sites" where biodiversity is being conserved through the initiatives of the private entities, has now been registered in the World Database on OECMs as an internationally important area for biodiversity conservation.
Imabari Operations has continuously conducted conservation activities on the beach in cooperation with local stakeholders, including land maintenance and environmental education for children from nearby elementary schools.
Toshiba Group, including Toshiba Lighting & Technology Corporation, will continue to promote biodiversity conservation activities in cooperation with local communities to contribute to Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (commonly known as the "30by30 target").
